Rivermont Schools partners with public schools and districts across Virginia to deliver a flexible continuum of special-education programming—so learners stay connected to their communities while receiving the services they need.

How We Support Your District

  • Embedded Classrooms (In-District Placement)
    Autism support and emotional support classrooms staffed by Rivermont teachers, behavior technicians, and clinicians all inside your school building, keeping students in the least restrictive environment.
  • Consultative Services (In-District Consultation)
    On-site programming delivered by special educators, clinicians, and support staff providing ABA therapy-based interventions in public school classrooms, overseen by a licensed practitioner. Data analysis, and staff and administrators professional development build your staff’s capacity and strengthen student outcomes.
  • Out of District Placement for Higher-Intensity Needs
    When a separate setting is the best fit, students can transition smoothly to one of our 17 Rivermont Schools.

Reducing Behaviors and Staff Turnover in Lynchburg, Virginia Public Schools

Rivermont Schools partnered with Lynchburg Public Schools to provide:  

  • In-school and in-classroom tiered support for students, delivered by a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and Behavior Technician (BT), and overseen by a consultant. 
  • Behavior data collection and analysis for students identified by school administration to ensure effectiveness of programming. 
  • Professional development on subjects identified as areas on need or interest by public school staff. 

Behavioral data collected both before and during consultations, observations, and feedback on appropriate interventions revealed significant reduction (and in some cases, elimination) of undesirable student behaviors by the end of the data collection period. This frequency reduction and/or elimination was consistent across all undesirable behaviors tracked.
